I'm saying that given the state of the world I came from is not so bad (they invented time travel) I would be less willing to commit an act I considered immoral without good knowledge of what the (likely) outcome would be.

Similarly, I am troubled by doing acts in the present that, apart from the current circumstance, would be immoral. e.g. shooting a hostage to kill the hostage taker; allowing an injustice to take place to prevent civil disobedience; etc.

Are you saying you wouldn't change anything historically because there's always a chance of something even worse happening in the alternate? I think it would be a bias in presuming an alternate unknown arrangement to be worse.

Of course it's not necessary to kill anyone as per my voicebox quote -- simply arranging for something major to change in Hitler's life would have been enough.

If you kill Hitler as a child and the Europe empires continued to progress technologically without actually fighting in the 40's, since Hitler wasn't around, it is possible that Europe could have been wiped out by a nuclear war a few decades later.

The decision of whether or not to kill an innocent child must be made with a very accurate understanding of both outcomes.

Not to mention the fact that maybe you could reason with the child in a way that you certainly couldn't reason with the adult Adolf.
