Hello from Russia!
Can I quote a post “No teme in your blog with the link to you?

Ah Polprav! So you’re a spambot just as I suspected! Oh well — good effort sending from a site with seemingly real articles linked to a proper Twitter account.

Sigh

Yes, much of religion is concerned with thoughtcrime -- I meant that you'd be hardpressed to find a religious believer who actually believes it should be illegal to worship idols -- at least in my experience. Even Fred Phelps was a first ammendment lawyer!

one of the great changes we’ve seen since the Enlightenment is that almost everyone believes in the freedom of conscience and that heresy (ie. thoughtcrime) should not be punishable by law — even the staunchest of religious conservatives

Ever read the 10 commandments?

At least 3 of them are purely concerned with thought crimes.
Covet neighbour's goods and wife, worshipping false idols, not having Yaweh as first among Gods (an ironic commandment for a monotheistic deity). These are all crimes committed in your head.
