- Esquire magazine publishes this doozy (later deleted) in a lead-in to a story about good oral sex. “[T]he maid who was allegedly raped by former IMF chief Dominique Straus-Kahn gives a very graphic account of their time together, including some very indecent oral sex. And whomever you believe, that’s a tragedy. Because as we’ve learned over the years from our sex expert, a blowjob need not be degrading or hurtful, for either party. Here, a little timely etiquette to one of America’s most indelible bedroom acts. It might just help us all.” Yep, impolite rapists.

I wish that had been phrased “reduce the chances of getting infected with AIDS for both men and women”. “prevent” sounds like it’s absolute coverage, when in fact the studies just showed that the chances are reduced by a little over 2/3. Which is still unacceptably high to anyone sane.
I just watched the video of the christiancrusader boy. Very funny, indeed. You say “I think it’s a Poe”. I’m not sure I understand this expression. Can you please explain?
“A Poe” is something which is meant as a parody, but comes across as real. It’s a reference to “Poe’s Law”, which says (more or less) that it is impossible to make a parody of religion which is so outrageous that it can reliably be distinguished from real religion. (That is, no matter how silly you make a parody, there’s someone out there who really believes what you’re saying as a joke.)
Vicar, I guess I tagged on that link as a rare bit of good news to counterbalance the usually grim stuff that surrounds it — I should have read more closely. I’ll read the article properly tomorrow and edit — it should be toned down I guess since it looks like it was hyped.
