I think that one&#039;s view on progress depends on his values. Here is my impractical model to reason about the subject. If you give some weight to values. And you take certain state of the world. You can calculate how that state of the world matches those values.

So if you prioritize technical development, than there was everything OK with imperialistic Europe. If you value compassion, than Europe&#039;s approach was wrong.</description>
